The chiropractor gently and skillfully directs a specific force to restore normal ranges of motion to a joint which is being restricted by muscles or fibrous adhesions. Abnormal nerve signals caused by the restriction which create interference with normal function can be eliminated. Once normal function is restored, other body systems which have compensated for the problem can begin to return to normal. Studies have shown that the chiropractic adjustment triggers the release of natural painkillers called endorphins and that swelling, inflammation and pain can reduce significantly after an adjustment.
Is a form of medical and diagnostic imaging. It is especially useful for the detection of pathology of the skeletal system but is also useful for detecting some disease processes in soft tissue. Chiropractor’s also use x-ray to look for proper spinal alignment along with imbalances within the spinal column.
The use of an electrical impulse from a device through electrodes which are pads placed on the skin over the targeted muscles. We use it to reduce inflammation, to bring blood flow to the area, to reduce pain, for better joint mobility, to relax muscle spasm and for muscle re-education.
Is a self contained massage device which is a table that the patient lies face up on completely clothed. It has a waterproof barrier that contains interior jets, which rotate and pulsate while releasing streams of pressurized heated water along the body. The pressure of the water against the body provides the massage. It helps to relieve pain, increase blood circulation and increase range of motion. This relaxes nervous system tension and warms the muscles which in turn can promote an easier more complete chiropractic adjustment.
Uses deep tissue ultrasonic waves to provide pain relief, reduce muscle spasm, increase blood flow and reduce inflammation.
Is the practice of soft tissue manipulation with physical, functional and psychological purposes and goals. Massage involves acting on and manipulating the body with pressure- structured, unstructured, stationary or moving – tension, motion or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids. Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints or other connective tissue as well as lymphatic vessels or organs of the gastrointestinal system. Massage can be applied with the hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearm and feet.
Is a therapy that induces passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching the spinal joints and increasing mobility. The patient lies face up on a bench table which has rollers beneath its surface. These rollers slowly travel the length of the spine, stretching the spinal joints and increasing blood flow and oxygen to the discs, ligaments and muscles, thereby, improving balance, strength and mobility.
A therapeutic technique that helps with a variety of syndromes. It is a painless non-invasive procedure that is performed using a special treatment table that allows the practitioner to gently stretch and bend the back in various directions while he/she adds gentle pressure to different parts of the spine. There are no jerking movements at all, the table moves in a smooth rhythmic fashion as the doctor moves his/her hands into different positions. This all helps to release disc and spinal pressures; it increases intradiscal height and can increase foraminal size.
Is a type of therapy that addresses sharp muscle pains which can occur at various points in the body called trigger points. Trigger point therapy often has positive benefits for sufferers from chronic pain because the therapy aims to eliminate painful areas rather than treating surface tension or inflammation. Trigger point therapy operated under the principle that waste products from the body tend to accumulate around nerve clusters. If allowed to, these waste products will form a nodule or band which can be felt in the tissue, putting pressure on the nerve cluster. The formation is called a trigger point, as stress on the muscle can cause the trigger point to activate, sometimes causing an intensely sharp pain. Trigger point therapy seeks out and destroys these nodules to help eliminate pain.
